Agency Membership Organizations

Agencies can join the following membership organizations based on the interests of the agency and the requirements of the organization.



The Association of Fundraising Professionals Western New York Chapter is a membership organization for fundraising professionals. Members serve nonprofit and philanthropic organizations that are seeking broad community participation and support. Founded in 1960, AFP serves more than 26,000 members representing over 170 chapters.

 

The Buffalo Niagara Event Professionals Network is composed of professionals involved in the creation, management, production and implementation of special events and promotions. 


The Council of Community Services of New York State seeks to build healthy, caring communities and human care delivery systems through a strong charitable nonprofit sector, informed philanthropic giving and quality community-based planning. It offers group purchasing, training, consulting and advocacy.


The Developmental Disabilities Alliance of Western New York is a collaborative group of member voluntary agencies that provide services to people with developmental disabilities. While honoring individual agency missions, it is the intent of the Alliance to assist agencies to develop relationships, promote unified strategies and share risks for the mutual gain with and for the benefit of people with developmental disabilities.


The Homeless Alliance of Western New York was created in 1992 by the Erie County Legislature to find ways to reduce homelessness. By 2000, the Alliance had departed from its governmental roots, and now acts as an independent not-for-profit organization. Its mission is to facilitate dialogue and strategic action between government, public, and private sectors to end homelessness.


Idealist.org, part of Action Without Borders, connects people, organizations, and resources to help build a world where all people can live free and dignified lives. Action Without Borders is independent of any government, political ideology, or religious creed. Our work is guided by the common desire of our members and supporters to find practical solutions to social and environmental problems, in a spirit of generosity and mutual respect.


The Network in Aging of WNY, Inc. is a not-for-profit membership organization that helps its members enhance their efforts to improve the quality of life for older persons and their families. The Network carries out the mission by providing its members with opportunities for resource exchange, professional development and stimulation of interdisciplinary collaboration.


The United Way Agency Executives Association is open to CEOs of agencies that receive United Way Community Care funding, or are United Way participating providers. The association offers many services to help executives to successfully lead their organizations. Interested CEOs should contact us at nfprc@uwbec.org.

 

The Volunteer Administrators of Western New York promotes the exchange of information concerning volunteer services; encourages growth, development and cooperation among volutnteer service programs; and explores new trends and areas of service. The Western New York Service-Learning Coalition (WNYSLC) is a group of colleges and universities, K-12 schools, service providers, government agencies, and private organizations committed to creating valuable service-learning experiences for students that meet local, regional, and global community-identified needs. It accomplishes this through a sharing of resources, curriculum, and best practices.
