NOT FOR PROFIT RESOURCE CENTER
No matter the economic climate, it is always important for nonprofits to maximize efficiency. Our Not For Profit Resource Center helps agencies throughout our community to foster efficiency through collaboration in many ways:
By working with the Western New York Purchasing Alliance, which is owned by the major regional hospital systems, we are able to offer national, state and regional discounts to all area nonprofits. 50 local nonprofits have registered for this service.
Through our Fund For Alliances, we help agencies share space by paying for transitional expenses such as moving costs. For example, we recently helped Action for Mental Health relocate its offices to the YWCA building on Grant Street, which also houses Native American Community Services. We also helped Literacy Volunteers and Project FLIGHT relocate to the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, as part of the Library Literacy Center. These strategies increased operational effectiveness and resulted in cost savings that would not otherwise be possible.
Mergers & Alliances
Also through the Fund For Alliances, we help agencies pursue mergers or alliances by paying for transitional costs such as legal expenses. Most recently, we provided financial support for legal expenses for a formal affiliation between Central Referral Services, Inc., provider of Western New York 2-1-1, and the Olmsted Center for Sight.
