Not For Profit Resource Center

United Way’s Not For Profit Resource Center (NFPRC) helps local nonprofit agencies operate efficiently and effectively through a wide range of resources including group purchasing agreements, training, technical assistance and support for agency and program mergers and alignments.  One of the NFPRC’s most effective resources has been free Six Sigma training for agencies, which is provided on a volunteer basis by Dr. William J. Hill, Ph.D., a retired Honeywell employee and Six Sigma Master Black Belt Instructor.

Since Six Sigma workshops began in 2007, nearly 130 staff and volunteers from 24 agencies have completed the 18-hour training program, in which project teams analyze and improve processes within their organizations.  The results achieved through Six Sigma implementation have been remarkable; one agency was able to reduce the time it takes to thoroughly serve its clients by 27%, enabling it to serve more clients and increasing its revenue by $500,000.

If you are a board member or staff member of a local nonprofit and you would like more information on the NFPRC’s work, e-mail to be placed on our weekly e-mailing list.  You will receive information on current and upcoming training programs and other community resources, most free of charge, that will help your agency be the best it can be.
