UGIVE.ORG: HELPING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS GIVE BACK
Each year, high
school students spend countless hours voluntee
ring - whether to
fulfill their school’s community service requirement or just because
they want to give back. United Way is proud to announce our
partnership in a new resource for students that makes it easy for youth
to find volunteer opportunities designed just for them.
UGIVE.org is a free website designed for high school students who want to find volunteer opportunities, and track their community service hours for school credit. Since it is 100% focused on student volunteering, teachers and parents know that all the opportunities posted by our agency partners are suitable for their teens, and students know they will be volunteering with their peers.
UGIVE.org allows students the chance to learn about multiple volunteer projects, and choose the ones that best suit their interests. By being able to research and choose, students are more likely to find something they are really passionate about.
Students also have the convenience to do everything electronically - register, find volunteer work, and track their hours!
UGIVE.org helps youth find volunteer opportunities, helps agencies find great young volunteers, and helps high schools identify community service offerings for their students. For more information, contact Suzette O’Brien by phone at 887-2744 or by e-mail at suzette.obrien@uwbec.org.
