Community Baby Shower Sponsor Spotlight: Citi

Community Baby Shower Sponsor Spotlight: Citi Image

As the Community Baby Shower gets closer we wanted to recognize our amazing sponsors, their generous contributions along with contributions from community members like you make Community Baby Shower possible. Today we spoke with Courtney Krueger, VP of Market Communications for Citi Bank.

What does it mean to your organization to be a sponsor of Community Baby Shower?

The United Way’s Community Baby Shower has become a staple event for Citi Buffalo. Every year our employees look forward to collecting items and volunteering at the event. In our sixth year sponsoring this event, we know our financial support is impacting those most in need within the WNY community. It is one of our most anticipated community events!

How does Community Baby Shower support your organization's mission and/or support your organization's values?

Citi has a strong history of community involvement and giving back with the WNY area, and the Community Baby Shower allows us to continue doing so. Last year, our employees volunteered nearly 5,000 hours of their time to organizations within the WNY community. This year, our employee resource group, Families Matter Network, is leading Citi Buffalo’s investment of time and energy with the Community Baby Shower as their mission goes hand-in-hand with the goals and objectives of United Way of a creating sustainable community where everyone can thrive. Together, we are making a real impact on the lives of mothers and babies in WNY.

What would you tell someone who is considering participating in Community Baby Shower?

If you have a desire to help new and expectant mothers in WNY, this is a wonderful event to participate in. The United Way does a great job working with local organizations and not-for-profits to ensure that all donations are distributed to those with the highest need, impacting our most vulnerable populations.

Any favorite Community Baby Shower memories you'd like to share? What are you excited about for this year's Community Baby Shower?

While I’m sad I won’t be participating in person during this year’s event as I’ll be on maternity leave with my own baby, I’m excited that Citi Buffalo’s Families Matter Network will experience the impact this event has. I’m also eager to see how many donations our site can collect within the coming weeks!
