What motivated you to co-chair this year's United Way campaign?

Sometimes there are things in life that “you know, that you know, that you know” are meant for you to do, and/or experience. After fervent prayer, I knew that this is one of those things. It is a hard campaign, with unprecedented hurdles to overcome; but, my co-chair and I are up for the task!

What do you enjoy most about being a Women United member?

What I enjoy most is how this association allows me to broaden my individual community service reach and impact. Women are powerful beings. When like-minded women join together to work on common causes, there are no limits to what can be achieved. Women United is a vehicle for directing this collective power to make positive impacts on the neediest segments of our local community. It is very gratifying.

Favorite piece of advice or quote from another woman?

“Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.” Maya Angelou

What’s something you’re proud of?

I am extremely grateful for the many strong, enduring relationships I am blessed to have. It’s more a feeling of gratitude, than a feeling of pride. Okay…I am a 2 time graduate of Howard University. I am very proud of that achievement.

Favorite WNY destination that deserves more attention?

Autumn in Letchworth State Park! It is called the Grand Canyon of the East for good reason. The foliage, and the falls, are in a word: GLORIOUS!
