United Way of Buffalo & Erie County Hosted Sold-Out International Women’s Day Breakfast Presented by Women United

BUFFALO, N.Y., March 12, 2026  – Women leaders, advocates, and community partners gathered Tuesday morning at Buffalo AKG Art Museum to celebrate leadership, mentorship and the collective power of women supporting women at United Way of Buffalo & Erie County’s sold-out International Women’s Day Breakfast presented by Women United.

The annual event brought together community members from across Western New York to recognize International Women’s Day and highlight the role women play in strengthening each other, families, and communities.

“Yesterday’s celebration of International Women’s Day was one of the most uplifting and energizing mornings filled with women who support women, “ said Trina Burruss, President & CEO, United Way of Buffalo & Erie County. This year’s event attracted our biggest turnout yet and it’s a testament to the powerful community of women we’re fortunate to have in Buffalo. Thank you to Women United and our Premier Sponsors, M&T and Delaware North, for a truly memorable and impactful celebration.”

The program featured a panel discussion moderated by Trina Burruss, president and CEO of United Way of Buffalo & Erie County. Panelists included Kawanza Suarez, chief human resources officer at VyStar Credit Union, and Nicole Johnson-Scales, CEO of NJS Consulting Group.
