United Way General Campaign Donor Choice Program - AGENCY CERTIFICATION / RECERTIFICATION
Organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and who provide a direct public Health and Human Service, that have recently received and/or may receive impending donor-designated contributions, are required to certify with our United Way annually, regardless of location. During this period, our United Way contacts selected agencies regarding this process and requests their participation in validating contact information, current IRS eligibility (if any changes were made to tax-exempt status, including revocation, please notify us promptly), and the USA PATRIOT Act (click on link for more information). This process is conducted online and only agencies that respond and qualify will be eligible to receive donor-designated contributions through the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County General Campaign. NOTE: This recertification is not related to the State employees or Federal workers campaigns.
