Community Baby Shower
New this year! Community Baby Shower is now part of Day of Caring!
MAY 8 - JUNE 21, 2023
CHANGE DOESN'T JUST HAPPEN. IT'S CREATED WHEN WE CHOOSE TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF BABIES AND PARENTS WHO NEED IT MOST.
Being a parent can be a challenge for anyone. It can be even more difficult for expectant parents who already struggle to make ends meet. You can show how much you care for our newest community members and provide valuable encouragement and support to new moms by participating in this year's Community Baby Shower.
When you host a baby shower or collection, donate critical baby items, or make a monetary donation, you are giving more families a good start—and that builds a stronger community for us all.
Brand new items needed most:
Diapers • Baby Wipes • Baby Books • Digital Thermometers • Clothing (Sizes NB–12 months) • Baby Blankets
Besides the items listed above, United Way accepts all donations of new baby items.
WAYS TO GET INVOLVED – HOST | IN-STORE | DONATE ONLINE | TOOLKIT
Please consider hosting a collection. Drop-off will be located at the United Way building entrance located off the parking lot. Look for the labeled bins either right outside or just inside the front doors.
Deliver donated items to:
United Way of Buffalo & Erie County
742 Delaware Ave, Buffalo NY 14209
For the full Day of Caring experience, we encourage you to drop off your items between 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. on June 21, 2023!
From May 20 through June 2, find Community Baby Shower collection bins onsite at any local Wegmans store. Look for signs throughout the store directing you to critical baby care items, and participate in the Community Baby Shower while you shop!
Support Team Community Baby Shower as part of this year's Day of Caring. Your donation will help provide critical baby items for new moms in need.
Use our toolkit of downloadable resources to help you host a baby shower complete with games and snacks! In addition to the resources in the toolkit, by hosting a baby shower you gain access to United Way guest speakers who can answer questions and share information on the work being done in this area. Contact Suzette O'Brien, suzette.obrien [at] uwbec.org, to schedule a guest speaker for your shower.
