BE A DAY OF CARING CROWDFUNDING CHAMPION

Day of Caring isn't just a day to roll up your sleeves and get to work, but it's also a great opportunity to highlight the amazing work being done by nonprofits all over Erie County!

This year, we're inviting volunteers and community members to amplify the impact of Day of Caring through our first ever Day of Caring peer-to-peer fundraising campaign.

Each of our Day of Caring project hosts has its own fundraising team. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the host nonprofit and United to help offset any material costs for Day of Caring projects as well as provide general funds to help the host nonprofit and United Way continue the ongoing work that is being done to support our community!

HOST A COMMUNITY BABY SHOWER

Community Baby Shower is now part of Day of Caring!

Being a parent can be a challenge for anyone. It can be even more difficult for expectant parents who already struggle to make ends meet. You can show how much you care for our newest community members and provide valuable encouragement and support to new moms by participating in this year's Community Baby Shower.

When you host a baby shower or collection, donate critical baby items, or make a monetary donation, you are giving more families a good start—and that builds a stronger community for us all. There are two ways you can support the Community Baby Shower for day of caring, you could host a Community Baby Shower and collect essential baby items for families in need (find the most needed items list here), or you can become a Community Baby Shower fundraising champion and raise money to purchase supplies for families in need.

DAY OF CARING FAQS:

My organization is a Day of Caring sponsor. Should I still find and register for my own project?

No. You will receive instructions directly from your team lead and/or United Way about registering for your assigned project. Reach out to dayofcaring[at]uwbec.org with any questions!

How will the funds be allocated?

Funds raised by each team will be split 50/50 between United Way and the host nonprofit. United Way will collect donations through June 30, 2023 and then distribute funds raised to host nonprofits through our regular bi-monthly nonprofit payment cycle.

How can I help to promote the fundraiser?
United Way will provide a toolkit, complete with graphics, sample emails and social media posts, and crowdfunding tips for you to spread the word about how to support your Day of Caring fundraising team.
