LEAD with Purpose partners with United Way of Buffalo & Erie County to recruit and develop teams of community ambassadors within Buffalo & Erie County’s leading companies, who use their knowledge and skills to further their organization’s Philanthropic and Corporate Social Responsibility goals. 

Since 2018, over 250 participants representing 30+ leading local companies have engaged over 10,000 employees in giving, advocacy, and volunteering through this program (formerly known as the Corporate Loaned Executive Program.) 

Participants come from a variety of industries -- banking, retail, insurance, legal, manufacturing, accounting, entertainment, and hospitality -- but each recognizes the value of investing in community engagement and the leadership development of community-minded employees. Plus, Corporate Social Responsibility is linked to higher job satisfaction, reduced employee turnover, and increased consumer loyalty.

HOW IT WORKS

LEAD with Purpose provides participants with professional development, leadership training, and year-round engagement opportunities, while also increasing their insight into the work of United Way and our community’s most critical needs. LEAD with Purpose participants apply what they have learned to engage their organization’s employees through giving, advocacy, and volunteering. Participants also develop their leadership and other key soft skills that help them and their organizations succeed.
